Due diligence

Due diligence project is mainly a deep market analysis, a few years market forecasting and a competitors analysis. The biggest challenge is usually time constraint – due diligence projects are normally very short and last for a few weeks.
Among other due diligence projects, we conducted one for a British private equity. It was supervised by Roland Berger Paris Office and it included foreign equipment-for-shops supermarket network analysis and new market opportunity assessment for expansion to Germany and Poland. The assessment part, which was Roland Berger Warsaw Office responsibility, was performed by two consultants and a business analyst.
First two weeks of the project were spent on analyzing competitors on both German and Polish markets and searching for possible acquisition targets. For the purpose of the project we developed a form used in expert interviews with store owners and market experts. We conducted 95 interviews and filled-out forms were attached to the final report. In the third and last week we built a 5 years market model.
