Integration
One of the transportation companies asked Roland Berger Strategy Consultants for support in building a new model of management for the group. Decision about lunching the project was made on the basis of a significant growth in operating range, e.g. via acquisitions. Integration process concerned between ten and twenty companies.
Project scope included summing up the strategic goals of the group, choosing the right management model in accordance to those goals and providing full support in the implementation process. Suggested solutions were detailed by Roland Berger in the form of organizational documents.
During the project we conducted interviews with key managers, compared group's structure to the leading competitors, developed scoring models for recommended organizational changes and implemented an IT tool for implementation process monitoring. During the whole time we run a change communication program directed to both internal and external stakeholders. However, the key to success was to involve the group of leaders, consisting of key managers, in the change process and cooperate closely with them.
The project resulted in creating and implementing new organizational structure consisting of 6 business units and a corporate center, creating a system of KPI, indicating migration schemes for employees and defining potential of OPEX reduction.
