Your development is important

We want our employees to develop together with us. Intensive work in strategic consulting is connected with increase in the scope of your responsibilities, and thus - fast promotion.

We can distinguish eight basic levels in a consulting career at Roland Berger. Below you can find descriptions of both main requirements for each of them and scope of designated responsibility. You can find more information in the Requirements section.

Starting from the position of Business Analyst you work on a permanent employment contract basis.

Intern

The position is addressed to students close to graduation. Apart from good educational references, a short work experience in the form of an internships in audit, industry or financial institution as well as international experience (scholarship, internship) are required.

This position places you as a team member, whose job is to handle parts of our project modules, carry out analysis, help in acquisition projects and research.

Business Analyst

Position dedicated to graduates from studies in the field of economics or close. A short professional experience (up to one year) and analytical skills are required.

Scope of responsibility may cover:

  • unaided preparation of data schedules
  • independent analyses and drawing conclusions in a limited area, under supervision of a consultant
  • cooperation with consultants in a broader area
  • conducting basic interviews with our clients’ middle management
  • technical and organizational support of the team's work
  • preparation of short presentations and modules in larger ones

Junior Consultant

To take this position, you have to be a university graduate with economic specialization and having at least one year of professional experience.

Scope of responsibility may cover:

  • preparation of surveys and analyses
  • conducting project work in a limited area, in cooperation with a consultant
  • holding meetings with clients’ management
  • preparation of final elements of presentations for the client

Consultant

It is the next step for Junior Consultants or dedicated for candidates having at least two years of professional experience in consulting or in industry connected with sectors covered by Roland Berger.

Tasks may include:

  • gaining expert 's knowledge in a selected functional and/or industry area
  • managing project module
  • holding meetings and workshops with top management of the client
  • support for Business Analyst and Junior Consultant
  • support in preparation of proposals
  • participation in recruiting process of Business Analysts
  • participation in promotional activities of our company

Senior Consultant

Key requirements for this position are: perfect results as a Consultant or having at least four years of professional experience in consulting or in an industry connected with sectors covered by Roland Berger.

Scope of responsibility may cover:

  • developing expertise in a selected functional and/or industry area
  • managing two or more project modules, or a small project
  • cooperation in project management with clients’ representatives responsible for a project
  • leading meeting with clients’ board members and presenting project results
  • organizing work of selected team members
  • supervision over proposal preparation
  • participation in recruiting process of Junior Consultants and Consultants
  • participation in promotional activities of our company

Project Manager

Prerequisite for the position is perfect performance as Senior Consultant or at least six years of experience in consulting or in industry connected with sectors covered by Roland Berger.

Scope of responsibility may cover:

  • developing expertise in two or more functional and/or industry areas
  • managing larger projects
  • building relations with clients (Board Members and senior management)
  • acquiring new projects, so called follow-ups
  • developing areas and directions of growth for Roland Berger
  • participation in the recruiting process of up to Senior Consultants
  • developing new consulting products
  • supporting Principal in the role of a mentor
  • representing Roland Berger during seminars and industry conferences

Principal

The position is dedicated for experienced Project Managers, showing exceptional organizational and leadership skills and being functional and industry experts.

Principal is responsible for acquiring new projects and supervision over project delivery. The main task is to build proper relations with business community and, as a mentor, support development of consultants at all levels. Moreover, Principal takes responsibility for a part of Roland Berger office administration.

Partner

Partners are shareholders of Roland Berger Strategy Consultants. They are responsible for selected global Competence Centers, development of specific business lines or supervision over particular national offices of our company. Together with Principals they acquire and supervise projects (delivery management), therefore they act as Roland Berger ambassadors in the business community.
