Business Breakfast on permanent restructuring
Roland Berger consultants about permanent restructuring at Business Breakfast in Pałac Sobańskich
Roland Berger Strategy Consultants in cooperation with Harvard Business Review Polska, PKN Orlen and Hewlett-Packard Polska prepared a supplement to the Polish edition of Harvard Business Review on ability of permanent restructuring as a source of company's advantage. As a continuation of this cooperation Business Breakfast was organized, which took place on 21st of February 2007 at Pałac Sobański – residence of the Polish Business Roundtable Club.
The meeting was attended by CEO and Board Members of leading Polish companies – members of the Polish Business Roundtable Club. Apart from Roland Berger Strategy Consultants experts, Maciej Heydel – Deputy Chairman of the Board of PKN Orlen and Sebastian Jakubiak representing HP, were also present at the Breakfast.
A thesis raised numerous times during the discussion was that today's restructuring is of totally different nature than it used to be in the past. It is not about turning inefficient departments or whole companies around any more. In constantly changing environment and under pressure from investors only companies which mastered the capability of constant change or permanent restructuring will be able to survive. Participants of the Breakfast attempted to find an answer for the following question: "How to achieve competence in strategic resilience and how to face the challenge of permanent adjustment of the strategy to the changing market conditions?"
Broader overview of the issues discussed during the Business Breakfast can be found in the supplement to Harvard Business Review Polska entitled "Restructuring Capabilities: underestimated source of company's advantage". This issue presents six articles on different aspects of restructuring written by experts from Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, PKN Orlen and Hewlett-Packard Polska.
