CEE 2016 in the eyes of Polish managers
On June 12, New York conference room at Roland Berger office in Warsaw hosted representatives of business, politics and media. During Business Breakfast, Aleksandra Borycka and Artur Pielech, presented results of market study, conducted among 150 high level managers from six countries of our region: Poland, Austria, Czech Republic, Rumania, Croatia, and Hungary.
Key issues covered in the study include changes in macro environment, challenges to be faced by representatives of political and business scene in the coming years as well as strategies implemented by companies to achieve success in CEE region. The results surprised all the participants. It turned out that Polish managers are the biggest optimists in the region and that they evaluate the state of Polish economy much higher than economies of neighbor countries. Artur Pielech presented recommendations of Roland Berger for Polish companies for the coming 10 years. He emphasized the importance of cost optimization during the period of economy growth to avoid the loss of liquidity in times similar to recession.
A heated discussion followed the presentation. Managers confronted their opinions with government representatives while journalist sought the reasons for such optimistic results of the study. The discussion ended with a conclusion, that it is necessary to maintain dialog between business and government, in order to fully exploit the favorable economic situation.
